Avril Copeland is 30 years of age and lives in Ireland. Born in Dublin, in 2001 moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue her love of country music. After working in the industry for 5 years, Avril then returned to college to pursue a Bachelors in Exercise Science at Belmont University. Avril completed her degree and returned to Dublin last October to begin a Physiotherapy degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Growing up, Avril has always been involved in sport at some level. Avril represented her province, Leinster in many inter-provincial field hockey tournaments form the age of 16 years. Avril also represented Ireland from the age of 17 and captained the Irish U21s. Avril was a member of the Irish senior squad when she made the move to the States.Â
While in Nashville, Avril took up the sport of adventure racing after seeing the Eco Challenge on television.  Since then she has competed in many expedition length races including the Eco Challenge North America, Appalachian Extreme, World Championships and three Primal Quests. Avril also has some road marathons and 50K trail races behind her. Avril’s favorite part of racing is the post race party!  You can contact Avril: avrilcopel@gmail.com
